Dream, Quickie, Dream!
By Gloria Bond Clunie, based on the children's books by Donald Driver
First Stage Children's Theatre, Milwaukee, WI
The challenge: tell a time-traveling story about the childhood adventures of Green Bay Packer great Donald "Quickie" Driver. As Donald becomes a father, he goes back in time with the help of his younger self and revisits all the lessons he learned, on the football field and in the streets of Houston. A giant mural became the focal point of the action, with flexible furniture and house units moving quickly between eras and locations.
